This is a vintage "New Model Clearvue Bank" made by Earl Service for Banks in Melrose, Massachusetts for the New Bedford Institution for Savings. We don't know how old it is but my wife always remembers it in the house, so it was sometime before the mid-1950s - maybe long before that. The Clearvue Registering Bank had patent number 1703994 with other patents pending. The serial number is 15022. T is a slot for Bills in the back and t are four slots for coins in the front, one for Quarters ($6.00 maximum), one for Dimes ($3.00), one for Nickels ($1.00) and one for "Halves" ($10.00). The back also includes a picture of the main bank building at Union Street at the corner of Purchase Street in New Bedford. We're selling several other vintage banks from New Bedford this week and will combine shipping for winning bidders of multiple items. Thanks for looking!
