Up for auction is this outstanding bird tree by Ellen Martin. This mint piece measures approx nine and a half inches in height, and is in perfect condition. The time and imagination that it must have taken to create this piece is unbelievable. With the intricacy and effort put into every bird that she has ever made. Ellen Martin is a North Carolina based self taught African American Potter. She is known for her off the wall pieces especially her birds. Her work shows a true nack for art, and she creates pottery that can seldom be replicated, though often attempted. This piece is new from her, and is really an amazing piece that is unlike anything that I have ever seen any other potter make. It truly is hard to create a piece such as this because of the size and design and the high probability that a piece like this would normally have broken in the kiln!!
