For auction is a very nice specimen of the New York State Marksman Qualification badge. I believe these date from the early 1900s based on the style and pin type. This is a heavy bronze badge, made for the state by the famous jewelry firm of Tiffany and Company. This badge has the three year bar, showing that the individual had qualified for the third time. The back is period engraved with the name of the recipient, F. P. STRAIGHT. Possibly some of you have access to the NY Militia or National Guard records and can research this individual. In my experience over many years with these badges, named ones are uncommon and this is a very nice clean example of a fine Tiffany made badge. Over a long period of time, I have accumulated a great deal of militaria which it is now time to sell due to health and financial problems. I am selling other US Militaria items at this time and for some time in the future so please check my other items regularly.
