This challenge coin is one of only 1000 coins that were ordered by the Connecticut Fraternal Order of Police following the tragic events of December 14, 2012 at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.The CT State FOP donated 800 of the coins to the Newtown Police Department to recognize all of the First Responders, all of the investigators and all of the hundreds of Police Officers that provided security to the families, provided escorts for the funeral services, covered shifts and served the citizens of Newtown.200 of the remaining coins were made available to FOP members across the country.This coin is 1 3/4" and silver in color with hard enamel fill. The badge and shoulder patch of Newtown PD on one side and the names of all of the victims with the Newtown Seal & Ribbon on the other.
