Nine-piece set of OPIUM WEIGHTS from the GOLDEN TRIANGLE in Southeast Asia; each figure is a Buddha. The smallest is 5/8" tall and weighs 0.3 oz.; the largest is 2 and 3/8" tall and weighs 11 and 1/2 oz. All nine together weigh 1 lb., 14 oz. Weights such as these were traditionally used to measure small amounts of herbs, medicines, and (so they say) opium. Bought in 1986 outside of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Questions? Please ask!
