This is a majestic vase, with its dramatic fluting and its absurd little handles at the base. It has given me many smiles over the years. I love the coloring of it, the dark green with the fuschia highlights and the gorgeous floral Coralene design. It is very well preserved except for a tight 7" hairline which it had when I purchased it and which has not changed. I have photographed it for your evaluation. Only a few grains of Coralene are missing all over, and t is a small strip missing on the back from the bottom of the rightmost petal of the pink bud. I must tell you, although few would notice it because t is so much going on in the central design, that t is a spot w neither paint nor Coralene was applied so that it shows white, but somehow it is not all that noticeable until it is pointed out to you, but you know I tell you everything I see. The gold is still in excellent condition, although the artist "went outside the lines" a bit. T are no chips, nicks or flakes. While I am a fairly long-time member of INCC, I have never been to a meeting and I am not an expert in Nippon, just an enthusiast.
