However in addition to his photo journalism works Kemp also had a passion for fine art nude photography. During the 1940's he earned a reputation for being one of the finest pin-up photographers in the United States. During this time his photography of the nude form was known for glamorous sets and smiling happy models. Kemp's talents as a photo journalist provided him a unique perspective on the lives of his models. By 1960's however this insight led to a considerable change in his photographic style. Gone were the glamorous sets and smiling models.
