You are bidding on a very nice and very hard to find VINTAGE OBSOLETE LAPD SHIRT WITH TRAFFIC SGT PATCHES, HASH MARKS, ARROWS & CHEVRONS. From the estate of a long retired LAPD motor officer who started in the late 50s or early 60s. He kept this shirt as a souvenir of his service. The shirt is 100% wool and custom made by AL MILLER UNIFORMS of San Pedro, CA. It is marked 16 1/2 - 34. It is fully tailored and and has snaps on the shirt pocket flaps. The patches are O/S LAPD traffic patches with GOLD trim indicating that they were for sergeants and above. Not that many were made. They are white twill, rolled edges, with gold, blue, and green emroidered lettering and the old style green cross for safety. There is one on each shoulder. Each sleeve also carries a forward facing GOLD traffic arrow. These too indicated sergeants and above. They are gold embroidered on black felt background. There are also two O/S LAPD spec sergeants chevrons. These are white/silver embroidered on black felt. They are embroidered in the O/S with "X"s throughout the stripes (check close-up photo), Lastly, there are three "Hash Marks" on the L/H sleeve which is also O/S embroidered white/silver on black felt. The shirt was worn a long time but was well taken care of. There is no damage or repairs and no moth holes. The four departmental LAPD buttons are missing read more
