Beautiful old Abuja pottery casserole dish with lid, signed by the potter, "KU" for Kande Ushafa, one of the premier early potters at Michael Cardew's Abuja Pottery in Nigeria. The colors are typical of Abuja pottery, although this dish has more blue than most. The dish measures 8" inside diameter, 8 3/4 " outside diameter, although the handles extend a bit farther out. The bottom of the bowl is 6" in diameter. It was collected in the early 1970s at the Pottery in Abuja, then a tiny village, now the capital of Nigeria! In excellent condition, any connoiseur of fine art pottery would be glad to have it in their collection.Buyer pays for shipping, to be determined after packing and weighing and depending on destination.
