For your auction consideration is a beautiful porcelain biscuit jar that was made in Germany by Eglantine. The bottom is marked as follows "Eglantine Germany, an oval shaped symbol with two letters back to back". The number 5 is impressed into the bottom with two "X"'s and initials (the gilders mark?). T are no cracks or chips to the porcelain at all! The rim is scalloped with relief scrollwork and is reticulated in some areas. T is some wear to the gold gilding. If you like to collect antique bisquit jars. 's one at a fraction of the cost in antique shops. The cover and handles both have relief roses with leaves. The dimensions with the lid on is about 7 and 1/4" tall by 5 and 3/4" across the widest part. Please email with any questions and many thanks for looking!
