This is a beautiful and very collectible piece of old MuranoArt Glass. It is a crushed millefiore Art Glass Bowl madeby Fratelli Toso (similar to AVEM) circa 1950. This bowlis made of thick clear crystal internally decorated withcopper foil, white colored latticino, and various coloredribbons all encased in the glass. The colors found includegreen, blue, pink, violet, white, and red. The foil adds aglimmering inner sparkle to the bowl. This bowl isparticularly attractive because it has a fully finishedindented rim. The bottom is ground smooth and polished. It is a striking and eye catching piece. A picture of a bowlquite similar to this one may be found in the book: FratelliToso Italian Glass 1854-1980 by Leslie Pina on page 159top left. The current value listed is $300-400. This bowlis just under 8 inches diagonally across, 2 3/4 inches highat the side, and 3 inches across the round ground andpolished bottom. It is in excellent condition with no chips,cracks or repairs.
