Hi I am not an espert on knives or bayonets or swords so I am going to give it a shot at decribing this piece. This is a great old knife or bayonet that I was told was probaly made by Toledo Mfg Co.(though the marks that i have found for them do not match this one). Mabe a very early mark befor the person was a company?? or maybe another company alltogether. If you know and would like to share information on it that would be wonderful. I have taken a picture of the mark and posted it too. This is about 15 inches long and is marke with an 8 on the handle part and the name that you see. It is qutie sharp and looks to never have been sharpened as the finish looks to be shiny like the rest of the blade. The brass looks to be orignal and in good condition. T is 2 very very small nick that are in the blade that are very hard to see with the naked eye but i wanted you to know that they are t ( I tried to get a picture but as you can see they are so small that it is very hard to see them. The leather sheath was with it and i have no idea if itis orginal or not but it keeps the blade safe and will come with it. It is very thick leather and is brass riveted together. Well this is all I can think of so if you can add to it that wold be great. Thanks alot.
