1934 Ford Big Yank Tow Truck - Scratch built from a heavily modified brand new donor 1:43 scale diecast 1934 Ford Truck frame this tow truck is slightly narrower and a full 2 scale feet shorter making it closer to true O scale. It has a single welded frame A-boom with a heavy duty hook cable & chain gear driven electric wench common to home built garage tow trucks during this time period. Small family owned garages didn't have the money for a fancy new truck so many built their own out of spare parts just like this one. The truck has sprung working front & rear axle suspension, clearly visible leaf springs & full underside detail, two side rear view mirrors, spare tire mounted under tow boom, front & rear readable real period license plates, distressed real wood front & rear bumpers, two tail lights, clear headlight bezels and a completely detailed dusty rusty engine under a working wing hinged hood. The wheels roll smoothly (NO pullback action) and both doors open to reveal a detailed interior with seat, dashboard, steering wheel, brake, gas pedal, clutch and tall bent shifter.
