On30 SELECT-a-KIT 2-6-2T bodykit designed to fit onto a donor 'HO' 0-6-0 mechanism from the Bachmann Spectrum 0-6-0 Saddletank Switcher. Up for sale here is a superb On30 SELECT-a-KIT bodykit from BACKWOODS MINIATURES in the UK. Modellers can use this bodykit in conjunction with the necessary donor mechanism to produce a really impressive 2-6-2 Sidetank or Saddletank model. Purchaser must specify their preference for either the Sidetank or Saddletank version after hitting the BUY IT NOW button. Donor HO Bachmann 0-6-0 Sadletank Switchers needed for this kit can be picked up easily. Purchaser must supply their own Bachmann donor mech. to complete the model as pictured. IMPORTANT: Note that photos 1-3 show 2-6-2T locos built using this kit. This is the SELECT-a-KIT version offered in this listing. Photo 4 shows the Saddletank option available - but do be please aware this pic shows a 2-6-0 version with rear entry cab. It's the 2-6-2T with side-entry cab that's for sale in this listing. This listing INCLUDES the SUPPLEMENTARY DETAIL KIT (Airpump, Air Tank, Bell). This On30 bodykit contains everything needed to construct the loco superstructure. The three main sub-assemblies - cab, saddletank OR sidetank unit, smokebox - easily assemble using superglue and the screws provided. Alternatively, more experienced modellers may opt to solder the etched brass parts. Your call. Kit includes the following: One-piece etched brass fold-up cab with alternative inner panels representing steel or wood, removable roof which is pre-rolled to correct profile, all backhead details for the cab interior, One-piece fold-up saddletank former with separate pre-formed tank wrapper OR one-piece fold-up sidetank former with separately applied rivetted overlays, cast domes and tank filler, cast smokebox and separate door, door, alternative woodburner or straight stack, headlight, pilot deck and pilot beam. Various alternative brass number plates for the smokebox are provided. Turned brass handrail post are provided, along with brass wire for handrails and piping. Pilot and trailing truck with spoked wheelsets are provided. Extremely comprehensive, fully detailed step-by-step instructions guide the builder through each simple assembly procedure. Expect no disappointments in this department. This is only a bodykit. There is nothing difficult about its assembly. The finished bodykit simply fits onto the specified donor Bachmann 'HO' 0-6-0 mechanism. No assembly of a mechanism is required - so I'd therefore have no hesitation recommending this kind of thing to a moderately competent modeller. If you reckon this kind of thing is beyond your capabilities, what on earth are you doing modelling On30 ? If your skill level doesn't even stretch to assembling just a loco body, sheesh!... well maybe it's time to consider taking up something less demanding like stamp collecting...
