For your consideration is this group of seven assorted hammers. Here is a brief description of each starting from left to right in the first photograph above:1. CRAFTSMAN carpenter claw hammer. Handle is marked "CRAFTSMAN HEADLINER." Will do the "balancing act" by standing on its claws considered important by many hammer aficionados.2. Straight peen blacksmith hammer. I made a handle for this old boy from a broken shovel handle which gives a nice flair to the end of the handle. The hardwood handle is firmly affixed to the hammer head and I rubbed in a little linseed oil. Overall length of hammer is about 13 1/2 inches as measured along the handle. The hammer head is embossed or stamped "NPR" which may indicate Northern Pacific Road?3. STANLEY cross peen tinsmith type hammer. Stamped 12-OZ and 462. Overall length of hammer is about 9 1/4 inches as measured along the handle. The handle if firmly affixed to the hammer head and I rubbed in a little linseed oil.4. Double faced machinist or metal working hammer. Hammer head is marked with a "3" and "Mexico." Hardwood handle is marked "TRUPER" and "American Hickory." Overall length of hammer is about 16 inches. Handle is firmly affixed to hammer head.5. STANLEY Masonry hammer. Appears to be new or very little use.6. STANLEY double faced metal working hammer. Also marked "780" and "3 LB" read more
