Original Poster from the Clyde Beatty and Cole Brothers Circus.When the Beatty show bought the rights to the Cole Bros. title in 1959, Beatty began circulating posters with the Greatest "Circus on Earth Globe" Logo -- but because this was an infringement on Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, the threat of legal action forced Beatty-Cole to remove the Logo. Before new posters could be printed, Beatty-Cole continued to advertise using the initially-printed posters: with a patch over the Logo .This poster features Clyde Beatty in his Famous Tiger & Lion Trainer Act holding his Bentwood Chair. Beatty's career spanned nearly 45 years. The poster is one of those scare original posters, which was used in transition while the others were being printed and which has the patch over the Logo. The patch is to the right of the name "Cole"- just above two of the lions. When you hold the poster up to the light you can see the Logo from both the front and back of the poster .28" by 21"
