This auction is for a beautiful leather bomber jacket belonging to a B-17 crewmember from the 549th Bomb Squadron as well as his uniform shirt, tie and hat. Unfortunately, the individual's name is not known, but he was an E-7 (sergeant first class) due to the rank still on the shirt. The jacket is in wonderful condition except for a tear in the right arm w the inner lining is now visable. It looks like someone attempted to sew the design on the front but was unsuccessful because if you look closely you can see the tight stitching in the leather (as shown in the picture). You can also see holes above it w wings were once attached. The B-17 design on the back is nice with 35 bombs painted below it. The uniform as said before has a SFC patch on it as well as Army Air Corps patch. If the high bid goes over $1000, I will throw in the bidders choice of an original sterling silver bombardiers, air gunner or navigator's wings. If it goes over $1250, the high bidder can have 2 wings and if it goes over $1500, I will throw in all three. Could this auction hit $1750?! If it does I will give the bidder an original flight engineer's wings on top of everything else! The higher it goes, the more I will throw in. High bidder pays $45 shipping due to having this professionally packaged. Insurance is mandatory and will be calculated at the end read more
