Original WWI German Helmet Shell as seen in pictures. Has Brass bront visor brim, side posts and rear brass tail pieces. Unfortunately has extra holes on front. Great original supple liner which is the best part of helmet. I picked this up in southern France in 1978. A great leather shell for a rebuild. The inside leather on the back brim is dark with age, however on the back left side is a slight stamping marked L G 1. This is mostly seen by having the light refelect off it at the right angle. On the back right side there are markings that look like 9 I R 1 9 0 8 1 B. These I can really only make out with a magnifying glass and the light hitting at the right angle. For these numbers and letters I think I have them right but the 8 might be a 3. Time for a new home. All sales final.
