You can browse through additional items in my store Watchamacallits & Thingamabobs Original Japanese Water Color ca 1953/4 Elderly Pair While stationed in Japan in the early 1950's, my mother-in-law commissioned a local artist to do paintings of local activities, occupations, places and peoples. This resulted in a collection of 25 paintings. This painting depicts an elderly couple out for a stroll. These appear to have been painted on rice paper and then attached to a heavy piece of paper. Each measures approx. 10 1/2" x 13". The outside edges have been cut off in this scanner image. This one does have fine foxing. I know nothing about the artist and would appreciate any feedback that someone more knowledgeable can provide. I can also provide a larger picture.
