Japanese woodblock print original Shotei Hiroaki Takahashi 1936 genuine shin hanga cherry blossoms at Ueno Toshugo shrineTAKAHASHI SHOTEIJapanese Woodblock Print"Cherry blossoms at Ueno Toshugo Shrine"Description:Artist's red seal in lower left corner of image.Titled "Cherry blossoms at Ueno Toshugo Shrine".Print Specifics:- published by Watanabe Shozaburo- shown in Watanabe's 1936 catalog as No. 251- circa 1936Condition:Puckering of paper found right of tree's center, from top to middle of foreground lantern. Paper thinning at top left corner (not visible in image unless viewed with backlight) and near top right corner in a 1/4" diameter circle showing a tiny fiber hole at its center. Ink loss found: subtle along top right edge until reaching a 2" long by up to 3/8" wide area located on right edge just above lantern's tip, at base of second from top branch at tree center, inside tree center at right of lantern roof's outermost curly tip, and three small circular shapes on base of lantern.
