I have for sale an original late war M42 German Army helmet. This helmet was purchased by me in a shopping center parking lot from an elderly gentleman after having placed an add in local newspaper. He stated that the helmet had been in his family for as long as he could remember. are the details. The smell, collectors you know what I mean it smells of age as it should for a helmet over 60 years old. This helmet is marked in rear skirt CKL66(ET) for the maker (Eisenhuttenwerke in the city of Thale) and shell size 66.Below this is the production number 5345.The liner is a size 59 and stamped as such into the leather. All the liner fingers are without damage. The metal liner band is dated 1944. Owners name is written into the liner but I can not make it out.The liner drawstring is missing and the buckle on the chin strap is missing but almost all but the tip of the long adjusting side is present. This helmet never had a decal and is proper as they were ordered to discontinue being applied in 1943. The two front liner retaining split-rivets are snug with their washers but the rear is missing the washer. I must say that this liner in my opinion has always been in this helmet regardless of the missing washer. Though this helmet has some light surface rust it is a true 100% original solid relic of the WWII German soldier. WILL NOT SHIP OUTSIDE read more
