This amazing image was shot by the legendary Frontier Photographer, Solomon Butcher. This sale is for the ORIGINAL glass negative. This is not a reprint of a negative or a reproduction of any kind. This is the very negative that Mr. Butcher created himself. The negative was part of a larger collection of Butcher original negatives that we had previously sold to a collector but this negative was kept out as the owner of the collection was deciding whether or not to keep it (it was his favorite).This image is incredible and the clarity of the photograph is perfect. The expressions, clothing and general composure of the image is amazing.This negative is a full plate image (6.5" x 8.5") and is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks. The image shown on this auction is a positive scan of the negative, to show you what the printed image would look like. With the purchase of this plate you also will get the rights to the image and can reproduce it without issue.
