Original Travel Brochure "Upper Egypt Luxor and Assouan. No date but item was in a group of brochures from a trip made in 1927. Brochure has minor wear on edges and a couple scratches on rear cover (see pic), otherwise brochure is in Very Good Plus condition (see pics). Contains 32 pages of text and photographs of the Luxor and Assouan areas south of Cairo. Brochure measures about 6 1/2 inches by 5 inches. Brochure has a glued binding. Rear hinge is "stretched", otherwise binding is tight. All pages are clean and crisp. Published with the "Compliments of the Upper Egypt Hotels Co. Luxor and Assouan" . Very rare promotional brochure issued "With the compliments of the Upper Egypt Hotels Co. Luxor & Assouan". Original stiff blue wraps illustrated in black, cream and gilt with tourists on donkeys traversing an oasis, the Sphinx and Pyramid. Landscape format. No author indicated, although reference is made to A.R. Badrutt, General Manager, for further information. Illustrated with 26 b/w and color photos, a double-page b/w map of the Nile Valley from the Delta to Assouan on a scale of 1: 4,000,000, and a table of average temperatures and humidity from November to April.
