20130601 Original Unsigned 1937 "Cap and Gown" Yearbook University of Chicago Notable alum John G. MorrisGood ++ condition ~ inside the back cover and on the forward frontispiece (blank pages in the front of the book) are notable foxing stains keeping this copy from Very Good condition ~ inside the pages are largely crisp, clean and unmarked with small bits of foxing (small light brown spots) in several places -- please see photos for condition details234 + pages total approximately 11 1/4" x 8 3/4" x 1 1/4" About John G. Morris: Journalist John Godfrey Morris (1916) has spent a lifetime editing photographs for magazines and newspapers, working with hundreds of photographers, among them the great names of 20th century photography.He worked for the weekly picture magazine Life throughout World War II. As LIFE's London Picture Editor he was responsible for the coverage of the invasion of France on June 6, 1944 - D-Day, thus editing the historic photos of Robert Capa. After the war he became successively the Picture Editor of the U.S. monthly Ladies' Home Journal, Executive Editor of Magnum Photos, Assistant Managing Editor for Graphics of The Washington Post and Picture Editor of The New York Times.In 1983 he moved to Paris, as the European correspondent of National Geographic. Now a freelance writer and editor, his primary concern is working for peace.Awards 1971 Joseph A.
