An Amazing WWII Azimuth telescope Model M1910A1 in its original condition! Serial numbers indicate the telescope was manufactured in 1943, and the breast of telescope in 1942. My father was in the 422 regiment of battalion 106, also known as "the hungry and sick," and had just had his 19th birthday when he was captured in the Battle of the Bulge and sent to prison war camp Bad Orb deep inside german lines. He spent the next 4 months living on scraps of bread, dandilions, and chewed tar to keep his teeth from falling out. He is gone now, but I have many fond memories of him telling war stories to droves of my friends sitting in our living room totally engulfed on the edge of their seats weekend after weekend. After being liberated by the Allies in March of 1945 and 68 pounds lighter, he spent the next 2 1/2 months in a military hospital and upon discharge "commissioned" this telescope and it has been in our family ever since. It is a rarity in the fact that it is a "complete and original" telescope and I haven't been able to find one ever. It is now time for it to find a home w it can hopefully be re-conditioned or displayed as is and enjoyed by many as wonderful piece of WWII militaria. I have no idea how much shipping will be but I will split cost with buyer (it probably weights about 80 pounds!) Bid Confidently and email me with read more
