ORNATE Russian Brass Samovar circa 1910 Antique tea Urn Family heirloom brought to the US from either Russia or Turkey . Rare brass samovar complete with chimney and ash trap. Stamped with the logo "Garanti Semaverleri." In work ing condition. Made of brass and all original. The owners believe it is circa early 1900's or quite possibly the late 19th c. Quite likely the most elegant. and at the same time convenient way to serve. tea - s amovars have been a symbol of eastern European hospitality, comfort, and prosperity since their creation in the 18th century. Coal or fuel goes in the heating cylinder in the center, surrounded by the tea water. This very fine samovar consists of five pieces and has a square footed base. It measures 22" tall, and 12" handle to handle. The nicely detailed spigot is 4" long. The base itself is beaut if ully designed as well. The body has two handles created out of wood and brass. T is a wood handle coming off of the brass chimney and two wooden knobs on the lid. This piece has terr if ic patina, and is in great shape for its age with expected age appropriate wear.
