folio album string bound with black cloth covered boards with 293 photographs and post cards, most being real photo post cards for this soldier's war service, most with manuscript titles below in German. There are 2 partially printed military commendations with attached ribbons. Karl Blank was in the 9 Kompagnis Infanterie Regiment Nr. 186. The album also has a machine gunner's shoulder patch, a grey metal grenade insignia, printed Armistice announcement with the Russians, a body tag used to identify dead enemy soldiers and several other documents in German. Lot also includes two battlefield maps. This album has a wonderfully diverse selection of photographs from large format images of the Kaiser and family, most of the leading German and Austrian Military leaders, many great images of artillery, tanks, planes, battlefield, soldiers in trenches, motorcycles, and other Army vehicles, dead enemy soldiers, captured American soldier, aerial photographs of towns, many battle-damaged, and much more. A great album of images and documents.
