5/8" x 1 1/2" oval pinback issued as a souvenir of the September 13, 1909 grand opening of the Gunnison Tunnel in Montrose, Colorado, attended by President William Howard Taft. There is a small celluloid split at the rear top, on the curl, and a teensy cut on the opposite curl. These are both typical and minor defects and the button displays near-mint. Texas residents must pay 6.25% sales tax, unless they provide a valid resale certificate. Items purchased for less than $50 will be sent uninsured, at buyer's risk.
