This is a beautiful pair of vintage hand painted Japanese vases. They have matching scenes on each side. One features a young girl sitting at her mother's feet--both wearing kimonos. The other side is a scene with a lake, mountains, flowers and a butterfly. The lip of the vases is a metal ring of brass. The bottom of each vase is signed. They are 4.5" tall and approx. 3" at their widest diameter. The top brass opening is is a little less than 1" in diameter. Both vases are in very nice condition with no chips, cracks or breaks. I purchased these at auction and am uncertain of their age but believe them to be many decades old.
