From Pairpoint Glass on Cape Cod, Ma. Mass. we have a lovely cobalt blue colored Cape Cod Lighthouse suncatcher. Wonderful gift idea ! Each suncatcher will have very slight differences, but all were pressed from the same batch of glass. Hung is a window, Pairpoint suncatchers "catch" shimmering rays of sunlight and reflect throughout the room. They are individually hand pressed from molds that are engraved by traditional methods; freehand, directly in the steel, with hammer and chisel. The individual variation between pieces is the hallmark of hand pressed glass. Bubbles and shear marks are often caused by the process of hand gathering the glass and are indigenous to 19th century Pairpoint production methods that are still used today in producing their collection of Suncatchers. Combined, they make each Pairpoint Suncatcher a unique collectors item. The suncatcher measures approx. 4" accross. Wonderful and affordable gift item !
