Offered for bids is this circa 1934 Parker Vacumatic fountain pen in the marbled burgundy pearl. Parker produced some of the most beautiful pens of the 1930's and 40's with different colors and designs and this set is a perfect example. This is the earlier version of the Vacumatic with the feather clip arrow design as opposed to the Parker Arrow/blue diamond design of the late 1930's and 1940's. This Vacumatic was made in the USA and is the standard size. The pen measures 4.8 inches in length with the cap screwed on snuggly in place. The imprint is faint and reads: "Geo. S. Parker PARKER VACUMATIC Made in U.S.A.". The date code is "44.". The pen is in good condition and, other than surface wear, has no dings, cracks or bitemarks. T is some high point brassing to the gold filled cap bands. The diaphragm is intact and draws up and expels water as designed. The 14K gold Vacumatic nib is correct and is a FINE point with minimal flex and a full compliment of iridium. The nib is in good condition and has a date code of "26". I have not tested the pen so I can make no claim as to its writing performance. This would make an ideal vacumatic to complete a set or would make a great daily user. The winning bidder will need to add $7.00 for USPS Priority mail in the US and Paypal is the preferred method of payment. Payment is expected within read more
