Rocky Keezer is one of the foremost contemporary New England Indian basket weavers of today. He is from the Passamaquoddy tribe, and his baskets fetch high prices. I am pleased to be able to offer this example of his handiwork. It is a beautifully woven little woven sweetgrass and ash basketry cup and saucer, with a curved ash handle. It has sweetgrass rims bound with ash, and an array of pretty blue twists covering the sides and on the top of the saucer. The basket is woven all in one piece, and is signed on the base by Mr. Keezer. A beautiful little basket! This basketry cup and saucer are of demitasse size. The saucer is 3¾" in diameter and the cup is 1¾" in diameter at the rim. The basket is 1½" deep. This basket is just in pristine condition. I've looked it over carefully, and t are no broken splints, frayed sweetgrass, or any noticable damage. All of the little rim wraps are intact, as is the handle. Be sure to look at the photos of the basket with a dime. Very small and delicate! This basket displays beautifully and will make a terrific addition to a collection of Northeast Indian baskets. It's not often you find one by Mr. Keezer offered at such a low opening bid. I accept Paypal, cashiers checks, money orders, and personal checks, although the shipping on an item will be delayed for the check to clear if a personal check read more
