This item up for auction is a Patriotic Order of the Sons of America P.O.S.A. sword and scabbard. It has a 1860 style hilt. The pummel features George Washington. The finish is slightly worn on the scabbard and pummel.The overall length of the sword and scabbard is approximately 37-1/2 inches. The blade measures 29-3/4 inches in length. The handle is wrapped in wire. The blade is nice and tight and does not wiggle. The name Roland Orr, Phila is etched onto the sword as well as the letters P.O.S.A. as well as what I think are the letters L.F. Lecht. The sword has nice fancy engravings on both sides.
