Pere Marquette Steamship Gouache Oil Painting date 1932 Pere Marquette Gouache or Oil on Board Painting Dated 1932 by T Bailey - the corner has the initial B with '32. In the original deco wood frame it measures 10" x 13", the art itself is 7 1/4" x 10 1/2". Found with a group of similar paintings all signed with the letter B - the estate was located in South Boston Ma. and I was told the artist was likely known as T Bailey which was a common pseudonym of several artists associated with the Massachusetts communities around Cape Ann, who painted for the tourist trade during the early to mid-20th century. The art is very well done and the quality is obvious. This frame still has the original glass. I did some research on Google and found this steamer was used at The Great Lakes such as Lake Michigan early 20th century.
