This lead-free pewter athame/ritual dagger depicting a crescent moon, flowering vines and stars is new and made in the United States. Sparkling ruby red crystals accent the leafy vine wrapped around the hilt. This can also be used as a letter opener.The pommel is formed by a crescent moon holding a large round ruby red faceted crystal. This is not top-heavy...it's perfectly balanced (as seen in one of the pictures). The metal blade is sharp. An edge can be put on the blade if desired. This is something you won't find anywhere else! This piece measures 6 1/2" in length x 1/2" wide (star hilt). This can be used as an athame on a Wiccan altar. Most often an athame is used to direct energy. The pommel (top portion) functions as a counterweight for balance. This is often elaborately designed to compliment the guard. The guard is the protective part of the hilt meant to deflect and block an opponent's sword or dagger to avoid or minimize injury.
