Pewter Dish made by Penland Weavers and Potters, purchased at the Chicago World's Fair, 1933Scripted on back of dish "World's Fair, Penland Weavers and Potters Penland N.C., August 7, 1933Measures 6" roundCondition: Good with lots of scuffing, scratching, a few dings."Lucy Morgan, or Miss Lucy --as she was called by just about everyone--was creative in her approach to running the Penland School of Handicrafts. In the summer of 1932, she outfitted a small log cabin and affixed it to the bed of a pickup truck. Dubbed the "Travelog," it was transported to the Chicago fairgrounds and reassembled on site as a sales booth for Penland crafts sold at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair."
