The first snowman was issued in the 1974 as a seasonal character along with Santa. 1981 saw a change away from the black stem. In 1987, feet were added. In 1991, the 4.9 stem was used and the nose was attached to the head in a different manner. In 1993, the country of Yugoslavia changed to Slovenia. This helps to date some of the PEZ. In 1998, misfit colors were available as a mail in premium. In 2002, the whole series was redesigned including the snowman. The new series was called Winter Stars. The Winter Stars Set includes Santa, an Elf, a Reindeer, a redesigned Snowman, and a Polar Bear in a Santa Hat. Collect the whole set! This listing is for the Misfit Red Face Snowman wearing a White Hat on a Black 4.9 #5 (Slovenia) stem (1998).
