COIN SPOTPeach Opalescent Carnival Glass Comportc. 1910Made by theDugan Glass Co.Indiana, PennsylvaniaApproximate Dimensions:6.5" (Diameter)5" (High)3.25" (Base)This is a really, really pretty peach opalescent carnival glass (iridized) compote featuring the pattern " COIN SPOT " made by the Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, Pennsylvania, circa 1910.Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The iridescence is EXCEPTIONAL with virtually no rub or wear. The pattern is very well articulated and unmarred.Just a really nice antique carnival glass item by Dugan... and, again, the iridescence is phenomenal. It has a slight wobble from manufacturing, for character. There are the usual internal air bubbles and straw marks (shearing tool marks) commonly associated with the hand manufacturing of old carnival and opalescent glass. Each piece of old carnival glass is unique, no two are exactly alike.Source : Heacock, William, James Measell, & Berry Wiggins (1993), Dugan/Diamond: The Story of Indiana, Pennsylvania Glass .
