This is the PHILIPS N4307 4-TRACK REEL TO REEL TAPE RECORDER from the 1960’s This is in excellent condition, in fact the heads look like brand new like they’ve hardly ever been used. It looks so new, that it still has the original paper instruction on the left reel advising to “use Philips tapes for best results” (yeah, right!). A really nice touch is the fact that it comes with the original instruction book and original circuit diagram. This unit has also just been serviced and all 4 drive belts have been replaced with a brand new set. The play reel rubber clutches have also been replaced so this unit is in excellent working condition. It has a built in amplifier and speaker, but also has speaker out with a switch to select between 6 or 4 ohms. It has combined line input, microphone input, and phono input, tape counter, and all the transport controls (play, stop, pause, record, FF, RW) you would expect to see. It also features a backlit VU meter and a head select switch. There is also a lockable compartment underneath for stowing the power lead and it also comes with lid and carry handle. This machine is in 95% condition with hardly any blemishes at all. It accommodates up to 7” reels as you can see in the photograph, although the ones shown are not included in the sale.
