PABLO PICASSO (1881-1973) A UNIQUE ORIGINAL GOUACHE PAINTING Painted Over A FRENCH "EDITIONS VERVE" ORIGINAL LITHOGRAPH (Of Untitled Ceramic Sculptures) FROM VERVE, Nos. 25/26 "Picasso At Vallauris, 1949-1951" (ORIGINAL FIRST EDITION PRINTING) Published in Paris in Autumn 1951 TH IS UNIQUE PAINTING IS BRUSH-SIGNED: PICASSO We are pleased to present a UNIQUE ORIGINAL SIGNED PAINTING by legendary Spanish artist, PABLO PICASSO. Painted in GREEN GOUACHE PAINT over a printed lithographic sheet from Editions Verve of Paris, published in the Fall (Autumn) of 1951. The water-based gouache paint has visible brush-strokes in its surface. Painted in the south of France, where Picasso lived during the War and Post-War years, in Vallauris , overlooking the ocean. The EDITIONS VERVE series of fine-art portfolios was p ublished in France by Michel Teriade from 1937 up until 1960. (This issue was dedicated solely to the then new works of his friend, Pablo Picasso; many of the images, all executed by Picasso between 1949 and 1951, were created specially for this edition of Verve itself.) Printing is by either Fernand Mourlot or by Draeger Freres (Draeger Brothers), both being the top fine-art printers of Paris and both of which took part in the printing and creation of this historic Michel Teriade Verve series.
