Pilgrim Glass Co. Ceredo W.Va. went out of business in 2000a tad over 4 1/4" tall 2 3/4" from the tip of the spout to the rim 2 5/8" across sides 2 5/8" base diameter Pilgrim Glass Co. produced beautiful art glass until they went out of business. It is unfortunate no more beautiful glass will be produced making their glass highly collectible. This pitcher is # 1794 in the Bennington pattern. It is shown in my 1990 catalog. Pilgrim made this style for some years so I can not date it. The 1990 catalog states " mouthblown using old molds" so if it is a newer piece it was a combination of old and new. They made the Bennington in cranberry and I did have one in cobalt. The Bennington was made in 3 styles, the rounded belly, the classic pitcher and this, the hourglass style. It has the Pilgrim wide open pontil mark on the bottom. The handle attaches up high near the rim, it is crystal. It attaches on the bottom, has a tab that comes out, continues on and ends in a pulled back loop. It is a great little extra on this piece. The color is lilac or light amethyst. The inside of the pitcher feels smooth. The outside is textured. The bottom is the circles in diamonds, the middle diamonds and the top diagonal lines. The rim has several bands that go around and cute spout. The condition is excellent. The glass is clean and clear, I imagine it read more
