~ Rambler Rose ~ You are bidding on a very rare, complete, 3 piece Mayonnaise Set, made by Glastonbury Lotus, in the Ramble Rose pattern. The pattern is # 1125. This set consists of the footed compote bowl, the underplate, and the serving ladle. It is a beautiful pink glass with gold rose floral, encrused trim. It is circa 1946. This set is in excellent condition! There are a couple of minor scratches on the glass, nothing to disappoint. Little to no wear to the Gold encrusted trim. No chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs! Feel free to ask questions but please allow 24 hours for a response. A Little Glastonbury Lotus History: The Lotus Cut Glass Company was founded in Barnesville, Ohio in 1912. Initially, the company was strictly a cutting operation but as business grew, it expanded into other forms of decorating. The name was changed to Lotus Glass Company sometime in the middle 1920s. Lotus never manufactured any glass !! They were located very close to many of the better glass manufacturers, and found it cheaper to buy glass from one or more suppliers and simply add their own decorations to form the finished product, which was then sold under the Lotus name.
