For centuries, this region has been renowned for being the centre of Europe 's great tradition of handmade pipes, producing some of the finest smoking instruments in the world. Carrying on this tradition is the heritage of Croci. Now is this dedication to artistry more evident than in the elegance of this magnificently crafted specimen. Completely made by hand respected and made by Italian antique tradition. Italian tradition from centuries ago offered pipes not only as gifts but as cult objects to satisfy the hard to please smoker. Like the sculptor sees his creation within a piece of marble, the Croci pipe maker sees his pipe in the fine matured briar (the famous Italian "plateaux") Only the highest quality materials are used in the creation of these exquisite smoking pipes. Years before the briar is ready to be turned into a pipe, raw briar burls are boiled and slowly cured for several years, after which they are cut into the large blocks of "extra-extra plateaux". Century-old "extra-extra plateaux", the oldest master artisans and the best designer to create pipes sold all over the world at prices from 150 up to more than 2000 dollars.
