THIS AUCTION IS FOR THREE (3) PORCELAIN DOLLS. The first lifelike, musical, handmade Panda Bear is an absolutely darling porcelain doll designed by Bette Ball, made by Goebel. They are sold as Betty Jane Carter Dolls by Goebel. The features are precious with beautiful brown eyes, adorable hands and feet paws with the pads detail. The 17" Panda is wearing a very cute outfit, in the Oriental style, of rust print cotton with orange trim. The tunic closes with snaps but is accented with 5 shiny brass buttons. It is wearing a 7 1/2" in diameter straw "coolie type" hat to be tied with the orange satin ribbons and worn slung back. The Maker's Mark, on the back of the neck reads LIMITED EDITION #185/500, 1994. There is, also, a tag, sewn inside on the cloth body, that reads: Betty Jane Carter Doll 1993 Goebel United States. The original inspection tag is inside the jacket along with a TO and FROM cloth tag. Included is a brass birdcage with a tiny white pottery bird inside. The music box (in the lower back of the doll) plays "I'm Just a Bird in a Gilded Cage". Also, included is a small wicker basket. There is no box and no papers that were in included with the purchase of the doll. The condition of this very cute doll is listed as used. It was well cared for by being lovingly displayed in a glassed case. The doll is in clean, nice condition. read more
