Post WWII Japanese or Chinese samurai or Martial Arts sword. It is not a military sword and was made for the martial arts or as a souvenir sword after WWII. I think it is Japanese made, but could be Chinese. It has a 26 1/4" blade with a very nice heavy "fingerprint" Damascus pattern. The top of the blade near the collar has some writing. T is no writing on the tang, which has light rust. The handle is 11" long and has a peg holding it on. The handle and scabard look are made of wood and have a brown leather covering, which has shrunk a little bit over the years. The blade is in good polish but is not sharp. Overall it is in very good shape and is not one of the cheap recent ones imported by China. I don't really know what it is so I am offering it at what I think is a good price for a sword made in the 1940s. I can supply more pictures if you request. I also have another similar sword listed. I got them both with a group of other WWII stuff. The Tsuba (guard) is brass, and the collar (Habaki) is copper.
