Pre Civil War Cashmere/Kashmir wool Hand Woven Shaw measures 63" x 128". This is kashmire wood as woven in the Kashmire Valley bordering India. It is in excellent, near mint condition & Has only two small 1/2" wear freys near one edge. Colors are very bright despite poor quality picture --- all vegetable dyes; Pattern became known as Paisley after this Indian shaw was reproduced in Paisley, Scotland in the 1830's. This is an original shaw as made in India for export to England and then the U.S. Colors present are red, yellow , black, orange, blue, green, tan. These shaws were used extensively by women wearing the extremely large dresses of the Civil War period. NO PAYPAL ! Will accept money orders and personal checks only.
