A very nice British army officer’s long dress coat to a Lieutenant in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. This is a good early example of pre WW1 manufacture, the buttons show the Kings crown so just post Queen Victoria, the medal ribbons are for service in the Boer war and consist of Queens South Africa Medal, Kings South Africa Medal & Africa General Service Medal, sadly we can find no name or details in the coat so no idea who this belonged to. The collar insignia is in place to the right side of the collar but has loose stitching, the left side has long since come un-stitched and disappeared, the ornate rank pips to each shoulder are in place and excellent, the medal ribbons are fine and original to the jacket, all RDF buttons are in place and perfect, many are still wrapped in paper from storage, it has one small hole and trailing to a small patch to the middle left side, it really is small, the lower hem of the coat has a small amount of surface mothing to the nap but does not show unless looking for it. It is obviously a high quality coat and is very nicely lined inside. A lovely looking coat which has done pretty well to survive the past 100 or so years. The coat measurements are :- shoulder to shoulder 17 Inches, shoulder to cuff 25 Inches, armpit to armpit 19 Inches, total length collar to hem 42 Inches. For some reason the photos read more
