PRE WWII JAPAN ERA-MINT HANDPAINTED SIGNED KUTANI SAKE CUPTHIS IS THE BEST KUTANI SAKE CUP I HAVE FOUND LATELY AND T WAS ONLY THIS SINGLE ONE. RATS!! IT WAS GLAZED, THEN THEY MADE THE DETAILED PAINTINGS, IN SUCH TINY DETAIL, THEN FIRED IT SOME MORE I THINK. I WILL NEVER KNOW HOW THEY DID IT. I HOPE WHOEVER SEES THIS DOES. KUTANI IS FAMOUS AND WORK LIKE THIS IS HARD TO FIND. It has the sacred Mount Fuji San in the mist with gold Accents or dots and t, a grass roofed farm village and farmer in his straw raincoat (it's snowing though) and other details. Everything is handpainted and is very hard to photograph. You need to hold it a FEEL it and turn it in the sunshine. The photos will have to tell the story on this one. I was impressed that from a distance, you can not see or FEEL the value! They catch your eye from afar and sort of draw you in. Did me anyway. It is AMAZING. I tried to catch the depth in photos and failed to get it very well. Tfore, I have tried to arrange the photos as a person sort of ZOOMS in and realizes what they hold in their hand. As usual, t is no way to capture in photos, the actuality of holding the pieces in your hands. You can not get this cup made for you anymore. I am saving these things as fast as I can, because Occidentals know a LOT more about fine ceramics of the last century than the young folks read more
