Princess Charlotte was the only child of the then Prince and Princess of Wales (later King George IV and Queen Caroline). She was the only legitimate Grandchild of King George III and the hope of the country. in 1816 she married Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (later he became the first King of the Belgians) but in 1817 Princess Charlotte died in childbirth. This is a very very rare nursery plate for Princess Charlotte. Lovely embossed border of leaves and in the centre in blue lovely portrait of Charlotte with a flower tiara and says "In Commemoration of the Late and Much Lamented Princess Charlotte of Saxe-Coburg Who departed this life Nov 6th 1817". The plate is approx 6 inches in diameter and in very good condition. **Please check our payment and postage details before bidding**
