We Originally developed this tool to be used in our Billiard and Pool cue supply and repair shop because we could not find a good, accurate quality similar tool on the market that would fill our needs for cue building and maintence. It worked so incredibly well we decided to patend and produce it for resale. The model pictured is designed to be use with any small gap bed lathe. NOTE: WE offer several models of this item. See details below. We use one on our Craftsman / Dunlap and Delta lathe. It also fits most other gap bed lathes. Large sizes available or With our micro lathe base option It will also fit a Sherline, Cue Smith, Chlisby or Micro Lathe II Taig lathe and similar beds. This lathe roller / steady rest can be easily adjusted for different diamiter material by simply adjusting the rollers on a t slot. Use as a steady rest between centers or as a roller rest with no center. You can also Easily adjust the center hieght. If you have ever tried to turn a pool cue shaft that is slightly warped on your lathe you know how hard it is. Your lucky if you don't beat it to pieces on the lathe bed. By simply moving this roller rest to just below the tip of your shaft you minimize the effects of the warp. This allows you to do a more accurate job while reducing the risk of damage to the shaft. the min dia for turning at .275" and the max at 2.5". The Max can also easily be modified to turn larger diamiters. Turn your lathe into a cue lathe or small spindle turning lathe for furniture or other needs. Now it is simple to do shaft repairs, cue tip replacement and cleaning without hiring a professional. This Roller rest will work excellent when Replacing cue tips, replacing ferrules, rewrapping cue handles, refinishing pool cues or cleaning and sanding shafts We do recommend you use a piece of collet or tape wrap to protect the item you are turning at the rollers! We use a high quality industrial rubber roller with sealed bearings. This makes for a more consistant, accurate turn . Standard model pictured is Base width 6" Hieght 6" Will adjust for 3/8-2" dia stock. The Model pictured is for a 6in or smaller model gap bed lathe. If you have a larger model lathe we can custom make your roller rest for the larger model to the specs you need. In most cases their is an additional; $12 charge to cover the additional shipping, labor and materials. Our v bed model for taig, Clisby, similar cuesmith, micro lathes or mini lathes will have a tslot base that is designed to fit the v beds with a lower swing. At this time we are not charging additional for this model. Please send special requests with specs at time of purchase. We also make a taig style v bed model or an extra hieght model for larger lathe center hieghts. Just let us know what you need and I am sure we can help.
